After a completely crazy match against Bayern Munich, the Paris Saint-Germain's Women's team qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League by finishing first in their group!
Les Parisiennes managed to secure a 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich in the final moments of a match that will be remembered for a long time, as they secured qualification for the next round by finishing in first place. Jocelyn PrĂȘcheur's side experienced a match full of tension and suspense until the end of injury time. Les Parisiennes will therefore feature in the quarter-finals of the most prestigious club competition.
The coach looked back on an excellent evening for Les Rouge et Bleue during his press conference: "It's a great source of satisfaction and pride to finish first in the group. We fought until the end to pick up this draw. We worked a lot on the attacking plan, specifically aiming to press them higher than in the first leg. The match was truly intense, and I remained focused until the end."
This result allows the Women's team to advance to the next round, and they will find out their opponent for the quarter-finals on Tuesday 6 February at 13:00. The club from the capital could face SL Benfica, the Norwegian club Brann, or the Swedish club HĂ€cken. The first leg of the quarter-final will take place on Tuesday 19 March or Wednesday 20 March, with the return match on Wednesday 27 March or Thursday 28 March. As the group winner, Paris Saint-Germain will play the return leg at home. The other teams still in the competition include FC Barcelona (defending champions), Olympique Lyonnais, and Chelsea. Something which certainly sets the stage for more memorable encounters!
