Diaby patrons the Red and Blue School in Paris' 19th arrondissement

On Tuesday afternoon, Moussa Diaby went and met the kids at the Red and Blue School in the 19th arrondissement in Paris. Moussa grew up and first kicked a football in this inner-city neighbourhood of the French capital and is delighted to be named the new patron of the School and to share his time with the youngsters.

The rising star of Paris Saint-Germain received a warm welcome from the 30 children in attendance and quickly joined them for a little football training session, directed by the educators of the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation. It was a special moment to create a bond with the admiring youngsters.

Moussa Diaby declared: "It was the normal thing to do, but at the same time a very important thing for me to do, to give something back to the kids of my neighbourhood. I take the role of patron of the Red and Blue School very seriously. I think it's very important for these kids to be able to identify with us, to feel close to us. They are our first suporters, most of them grow up loving Paris Saint-Germain and if I can give them something back for their support, I'll be very happy!"

Paris Saint-Germain Foundation assistant director Sabrina Delannoy added: "We are very happy that Moussa Diaby took the initiative to be the new patron of the Red and Blue School. As a young Paris Saint-Germain academy graduate, he is a tremendous role model for these children we have here. The kids were delighted to see Moussa Diaby here today. It was a special day for the children and one they won't forget in a hurry."
