Two Parisians in the World Championship final

News

Jannick Green and Jacob Holm's Denmark defeated Portugal 40-27 on Friday evening to make history this Sunday. The Scandinavians will take on Croatia in Oslo in the final of the World Championship, while France will be aiming for bronze.

Denmark OUT TO MAKE history

Already the first nation to have won the World Championship three times in a row (2019, 2021, 2023), Denmark are now candidates for their own succession. After another display of strength against Portugal (40-27), the Scandinavians have booked their place in the final, which will take place at the Utility Arena in Oslo on Sunday. While Jacob Holm did not take part in the semi-final against the Portuguese, Jannick Green was on hand as the three-time reigning world champions did their thing. In the final, the capital club's goalkeeper will be reunited with a future team-mate in Mateo Maraš. The Croatian international was decisive in his side's four-goal victory over France on Thursday.

Despite their defeats, France and Portugal still have some business to take care of and Luka Karabatic, Elohim Prandi and Mathieu Grébille will all be raring to go when the two teams will clash in the third-place play-off just before the final on Sunday. The aim will of course be to leave the tournament with heads held high - and a bronze medal in their grasp.
