Paris Saint-Germain Handball came form behind to claim a last-gasp 33-33 draw with Vardar Skopje - just 24 hours after beating Meshkov Brest - in the second match of their Eurotournoi campaign at Rhenus in Strasbourg on Friday. Thierry Omeyer, Uwe Gensheimer and Luka Karabatic gave their thoughts on the win.
Thierry Omeyer, Paris Saint-Germain Handball 'keeper:
"We chased the game for most of the match, but we showed some real spirit to claw back a seven-goal deficit. To win it, we would have needed to get off to a better start. We still have some fine-tuning to do, but that's fine - that's what the pre-season is for. Vardar Skopje are a huge club and it's good to gauge your level against a side like this."
Uwe Gensheimer, Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-winger:
"It was a really tough match after several weeks of hard training and a match on Thursday, but we showed a lot of character to get back into match. We could even have won it. We have had some intense matches with Skopje over the past few seasons, and it was no different tonight."
Luka Karabatic, Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot:
"When you look at the game as a whole, a draw doesn't seem like such a bad result. It's still frustrating though, because we had a chance to win it, but the main take-away is definitely our clawing our way back into the match. We were a bit tired after our match against Meshkov Brest on Thursday. We always give our all and that can make it a bit difficult to maintain the rhythm for 60 minutes. Now we can sit back and analyse what went wrong."
