The Parisians return from national team duty

With the international break ending on Sunday, Les Rouge et Bleu returned to Paris on Monday ahead of Tuesday's training session at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin. Check out how our players fared with their respective countries.

Romania - France: 21-31
Despite starting poorly and trailing 4-0 nine minutes in, Les Bleus ended up getting the win in Romania. After getting back on level terms before the half-time break (24': 9-9), they headed into the pause in the lead (9-12). The Experts got off to a much better start in the second term and took a commanding ten-goal lead by the 50-minute mark (16-26). Romania never came close to bridging the gap and France ran out 21-31 winners thanks in no small part to Nedim Remili's six-goal haul. With two wins from as many matches, France share top spot in their group with Portugal, whom they will face during the next international break.

 

Kosovo - Germany: 14-30
Uwe Gensheimer's Germany claimed another Euro 2020 qualifying win, the favourites accounting for Kosovo with a hefty victory. Gensheimer top-scored once again, this time with four goals. The 2016 European champions currently top their group thanks Israel's last-gasp win over Poland, who will face off against Germany in April.

 

Belgium - Croatia: 25-30
Croatia also continued their perfect start, handing Belgium - coming off a defeat to Switzerland - another loss. Right-back Luka Stepancic struck twice while Zlatko Horvat top-scored with eight goals:

Thus Croatia also occupy pole position in their group, with four points, and now prepare to face neighbours Serbia, who were beaten by Switzerland.

 

Faroe Islands - Denmark: 17-35
It was one-way traffic between Denmark and the Faroe Islands, Paris Saint-Germain Handball's Mikkel Hansen starring with nine goals while club-mate Henrik Toft Hansen chimed in with two. This second win in a row leaves Denmark as their qualifying group's sole leaders, ahead of the Ukraine. Next April, our two Parisians will do battle in a double-header against Montenegro.

 

Spain - Norway: 30-27
Spain endured some nervy moments but nonetheless ran out winners against Norway. With a big lead at the break (18-10), Rodrigo Corrales and his teammates saw Norway claw their way back to within a point with ten minutes left (24-23). However, La Roja held out for the win. Paris Saint-Germain Handball's Sander Sagosen did not take part in the match.

Spain will take on Austria in April while Norway will do battle with neighbours Sweden.

 

Austria - Sweden: 31-34
Kim Ekdahl Du Rietz did not play in Sweden's win over Austria, a match that was level at the break (16-16) before the Swedes pulled clear in the second half.
