Skjern stunned in league loss

Ahead of their Velux EHF Champions League trip to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Saturday evening, Skjern tasted defeat in the Danish league on Wednesday night.

While the Les Rouge et Bleu were busy beating Cesson-Rennes (19-29) in their Lidl Starligue Round 11clash, Skjern were not so fortunate as they did battle away to Ringsted. Much to everyone's surprise, the home side - who have lost nine times in 13 league outings this season - turned in a stunning performance to topple the reigning Danish champions. Skjern 'keeper Emil Nielsen, who was excellent against Paris Saint-Germain Handball in the Velux EHF Champions League, valiantly strove to stem the tide, but it was up front that Thomas Mogensen and his teammates failed to take care of business (28-24).

The defeat leaves the Green and Blacks mid-table in the Herre Handbold Ligaen, ten point adrift of leaders Aarlborg. On Saturday, they make the trip to the French capital for their Velux EHF Champions League Round 10 clash with Paris Saint-Germain Handball at 17:30. The match will be broadcast live on beIN SPORTS 1 and our social media platforms. You can also secure tickets to see the match live by clicking here!
