Preview: 5 things about Paris - Limoges

After the Coupe de France and the Trophée des Champions, Paris Saint-Germain Handball is back in the Liqui Moly StarLigue! On Thursday evening, in Round 1, our team play host to Limoges at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin.

1 - TWO SUCCESSFUL STARTS

Limoges got off to a perfect start. The team from Nouvelle-Aquitaine team got off to a flying start last week in the round of 16 in the Coupe de France. They beat Besançon 31-39 thanks in particular to eight goals from Dragan Gajic.

For their part, Les Rouge et Bleu won their opening Coupe de France tie at Frontignan (38-42), before putting in a superb performance last weekend at Cesson-Rennes in the Trophée des Champions final against Nantes (25-35).

2 - LIMOGES’ TRANSFER ACTION

There's been a lot of movement in the LH ranks this summer! One former Parisian goalkeeper can hide another. Indeed, among the 11 moves made by the club (five arrivals, six departures) was that of former Les Rouge et Bleu resident Yann Genty, who moved to Saran. To replace him, the Limousin staff opted for Gauthier Ivah, who has defended the Parisian goal five times in the Liqui Moly StarLigue.

3 - BACK TO COUBERTIN

Les Rouge et Bleu return to their home turf at last! The last time the Parisians played at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin was on 2 June, in the last home match of the 2022-2023 season, when they beat Le H 35-32 to clinch the French league title. A little more than three months later, Coubertin opens its doors once again.

4 - HEAD TO HEAD

This is the seventh meeting between these two teams in the French handball elite. The first six were won by the capital club. Last year, for example, they won 44-29.
