Preview: 5 things about Limoges - Paris

News

On Friday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball take part in Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 26, travelling to the Palais des Sports in Beaublanc to face Limoges.

1 - THE TABLE

Limoges are having a great season and have already surpassed their points total from last season (18), with 24. After 25 matches, they are in 7th place.

Les Rouge et Bleu, for their part, clinched a great result just before the international break, beating co-leaders Montpellier (38-23). In addition to taking sole control of the championship, they also now boast a better goal difference than the Héraultais (+14).

2 - KEY STATS

Defensively, the two teams are relatively close. The Parisian rearguard has conceded 740 goals since the beginning of the season, while the Limoges rearguard has seen its nets shake 770 times. Our most efficient 'keeper is still Andreas Palicka, with 215 shots saved. At LH, it is former capital club glovesman Yann Genty who stands out the most, with 155 saves.

Up front, Paris still dominate the attacking table, with 892 units - something Kamil Syprzak and Elohim Prandi have had a big hand in, with 140 and 139 goals respectively. Limoges are in the middle of the table with 760 goals. Their top scorer is, unsurprisingly, experienced Slovenian right winger Dragan Gajic, with 123 goals.

3 - A LOOK BACK AT THE FIRST MATCH

In the first match between the sides this season, at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin back in Round 6 at the end of October, Paris took control of the game immediately. Thanks in particular to seven goals from Elo', our team won by nine points (33-24).

4 - HEAD TO HEAD

This will be just the fifth league meeting between these two teams. For the moment, the advantage is largely in favour of Paris Saint-Germain Handball, who have won the first four meetings. There was a great match between the sides back in 2020, which saw the capital club clinch both points (42-20) thanks in no small part to a stunning 13-goal haul from - you guessed it - Elohim.
