Paris' Champions League challenge is set!
This Thursday, in Vienna, the draw for the group phase of the Velux EHF Champions League, version 2019-20 was held. Paris Saint-Germain Handball now know whom they will face in Europe's top competition next season…
Unlike last year, Les Rouge et Bleu will be in Group A. They will face Szeged, Zagreb, Flensburg and Celje (whom they faced at this stage of the competition last season). In terms of reunions, Paris will also cross paths with Barcelona. The Blaugrana, who finished third in the competition last season, faced off against the capital club in 2016-17, with the home side winning narrowly in each leg.
Nikola Karabatic's team salso share a group with Aalborg (as they did two years ago) and will be up against an unfamiliar opponent in the form of Norwegian side Elverum Handball, who are new to the higher groups. Some very big challenges await Paris Saint-Germain Handball!
