News

On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball defeated nearest Lidl StarLigue rivals Montpellier 32-36 in an intense Round 13 clash in Montpellier on Wednesday. Jesus Gonzalez, Ferran Solé Sala and Nedim Remili gave is their thoughts on the win.

Jesus Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"At the beginning of the match, both teams shone. We made the difference thanks to our defence and Vincent (Gérard), who made important stops. I think that was the key to the match, especially in the final minutes. Winning against Nantes (24-26) and Montpellier is very important for us! These are big European teams that are preparing us for the Velux EHF Champions League Final4. But we will have to back it up against Dunkerque next Saturday."

Ferran Solé Sala (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):
"It was difficult... The scores were level for almost 50 minutes. At the end, we managed to take the lead. Our positive mentality allowed us to fight until the end. We needed a match like that! There are a lot of positive elements to draw from this. There are obviously things to improve, but it's a very good start."

Nedim Remili (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-back):
"At the beginning of the meeting, Montpellier were on a positive dynamic. We were able to do what it took to draw level. In the second half, we came back with a new mentality. It was a huge battle! In defence, we were compact. We all pulled together! It was a great match, with a lot of drive, helping each other and intensity. We are very proud of our match. We're pulling clear of our competitors, but the second half of the season is going to be complicated. There are going to be a lot of big matches. We have to continue on this basis, with everyone contributing."
