Luka Karabatic: 'We hold our destiny in our own hands'
The Parisians gave us terri thoughts after the 33-28 win over Zagreb in their Velux EHF Champions League Round 12 clash.
Jota Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball assistant coach):
We played very well for 40 minutes tonight. We certainly took too many risks at the end of the match but that also shows the drive that our players have. In any case, we're very happy with this win. We meed to stay patient when it comes to clinching top spot in the group. Perhaps ti will come next weekend...
Luka Karabatic (Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot):
We succeeded in playing a solid match and keeping our opponents at arm's length up until the final 15 minutes. At that point, we dipped a bit. We wanted to keep playing attacking handball and that led to a few errors that Zagreb capitalised on. But that just shows that in our team, even though the objective might already have been reached, we do everything at 100%.
We continued our strong run in the Velux EHF Champions League. Our objective - top spot - is getting closer. No matter what results Szeged get, we know that we hold our destiny in our own hands. If we don't slip up. We'll top the group. But away to Celje next weekend, it will doubtless be tough to get a positive result.
Adama Keita (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-winger):
The end of match was pretty tight and we had to stay vigilant and move the ball well to stop them from getting back on level terms. I was pretty happy to be able to score that goal at the end of the match; it was an important moment. Szeged got a narrow win, and good on them! They are stretching out the suspense in terms of who tops the group. But in any case our objective remains to win all our matches from now until the end of the season.
