Les Blues almost there
On Tuesday afternoon, France and its contingent of Parisians travelled to Greece for their rescheduled Euro 2022 Matchday 2 qualifier and claimed a handy 40-31 win.
Faced with a valiant Greek team, Guillaume Gille's men made certain sure not to slip up. At the break, they had not yet fully taken off (30': 16-22), but thanks to a game-high six goals from Veszprém's Kentin Mahé, four from Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-back Nedim Remili and five saves from PSG 'keeper Yann Genty, Les Experts claimed a precious victory ahead of the return match in Créteil on Sunday in the final round of qualifying. However, France's place at the next Euros - in Slovakia and Hungary - will be locked down even earlier than Sunday should Group 1 leaders Serbia beat Greeceon Thursday.
