Kamil Syprzak: 'We were strong defensively'
Paris Saint-Germain Handball punched their ticket for the Coupe de France semi-finals on Sunday afternoon, beating Dunkerque 32-21. Raul Gonzalez, Kamil Syprzak and Nedim Remili look back on this win.
Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"At the break, we had a big lead, but we were even better in the second half, especially in defence. It's important to win, but next week, at the Coupe de la Ligue Final4, it will be a different competition. We're going to try to play as well as we can against Toulouse to qualify for the final."
Kamil Syprzak (Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot):
"It was once again a committed match... But we are satisfied with the result! I think we played well throughout the match. We were very strong in defence, with an excellent goalkeeper. It allowed us to hit with several counter-attacks... That was our style during this match and we have to keep on working that way. Every victory gives us confidence... When we beat Dunkerque by ten goals at home, that's a good result for us. The most important thing is the way we won. Now we can be happy! After Nîmes, it's a second quality game this week."
Nedim Remili (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-back):
"We started this match well, with a lot of intensity. They've got good players, but we stayed focused on ourselves. We were able to develop our game and that's what made us strong. Dunkerque had the weapons to come back, but we didn't let up for the whole 60 minutes. It was a complete game from everyone. We're going to take advantage of this week without a match to recover a little, but also to work hard to reach the Coupe de la Ligue Final 4 in good shape."
