Group B results

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball confirmed top spot in Velux EHF Champions League Group B with a 33-31 win over now-second placed Szeged. Check out the other Group results from Round 6.

Nantes - Zagreb: 23-20
Handed a rough first half by a strong Zagreb outfit (10-11), The H managed to turn things around in the second term in front of their own fans. Urh Kastelic was imperious in the visitors' goal, with 12 saves, but Kiril Lazarov played a big role in the win, top-scoring for his side with five goals - even though a further six efforts on goal were stopped by Kastelic. Thierry Anti's men got over the line in the end and moved clear of the drop zone with six points to their name.

Celje - Zaporozhye: 33-28
Despite sitting at the foot of the table, Zaporozhye have been no easybeats so far this season and the Ukrainians confirmed this impression away to Celje. Indeed, the Slovenian side needed a strong performance from former Parisian William Accambray - making his first home appearance on loan from Veszprém - who bagged seven goals. Only ten-goal Aidenas Malasinskas, for the visitors, outscored the French left-back, but Celje got the win and are now sixth, a point clear of Zagreb and virtually qualified for the next stage of the competition after six group-stage rounds.

Flensburg - Skjern: 26-22
Two sides who have been blowing hot and cold of late clashed on Sunday evening. Capable of excellence, but also of more questionable performances, the German side got the job done in their Flens-Arena. The result was no foregone conclusion, with the Danes often leading in the first half, but Benjamin Buric did a great job in stymying the visitors' attacks. With 16 saves at 42%, the Flensburgers' 'keeper won a place in the Best 7 of the round. Flensburg and Skjern sit respectively fourth and fifth in the group.
