First slip-up for Uwe and Die Mannschaft

Faced with Russian in front of their own fans in Berlin, Germany conceded a first draw of the 2019 World Cup (22-22).

Russia - Germany: 22-22

Despite leading by up to four goals at times, Germany ended up being caught by a Kosorotov strike just seven seconds from time. Uwe Gensheimer's eight-goal haul wasn't enough to tip the balance in Germany's favour and Uwe and co now sit in second place in the group ahead of their headline clash with France at 20:30 on Tuesday night.

 

Croatia - Macedonia: 31-22
In this duel between Luka Stepancic's Croatia and Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach Raul Gonzalez's Macedonia, it was the former who emerged victorious. In fact it was a big win for the Parisian right-back, who scored three goals to help his side prevail 31-22. The result maintained Croatia's perfect record at the tournament - three wins from three matches - that leaves them sitting atop Group B as they head into their clash with Bahrain at 18:00 on Wednesday.

 

Spain - Japan: 26-22

Spain also continued their perfect start to the tournament, and sit firmly in second place in Group B. Despite being behind at the break, La Roja hit the gas in the second half thanks in no small part to a superb performance from Rodrigo Corrales, who made 12 saves at 39%. The Parisian 'keeper notably pulled off a terrific double save from a penalty throw.

Next on the menu for Spain: Macedonia, at 20:30 on Wednesday.
 
Norway - Austria: 34-24

Norway added their name to the list of perfect record-holders after three matches and they sit in second place in Group C. Austria mixed it well for the first 15 minutes of their clash before Sander Sagosen and his teammates ran away with it. The Parisian playmaker shine brightly once more, with an eight-goal haul, and is now preparing for the clash with Chile at 17:30 on Tuesday.

 

Denmark - Saudi Arabia: 34-22

In front of their home fans in Herning, Denmark ran riot against Saudi Arabia. With a six-goal lead at the break (17-11), Mikkel Hansen and his teammates pulled even further clear in the second, with the Parisian left-back bagging a total of three goals. Atop their group standings, Denmark face Austria at 20:30 on Tuesday.

 

Sweden - Angola: 37-19
Sweden had no problems dispatching Angola, former Paris assistant coach Staffan Olson's team going close to doubling their opponents' tally, with Parisian Kim Ekdahl Du Rietz spring one goal.

Sweden top the Group D standings with six points from three matches as they look ahead to their clash with Qatar at 20:30 on Wednesday.
