Paris Saint-Germain Handball is pleased to announce the signing of Dainis Kristopans from the 2020-2021 season. The right-back will be linked to the Club for three years.
Dainis Kristopans will join Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract with Vardar Skopje, in the Summer 2020. The Latvian was playing for the Macedonian team under the orders of Paris’ coach Raul Gonzalez.
The 28 years old giant has one of the most impressive physiques in handball at 2,15 m tall and weighing 135 kg. In Paris, he will share the right-back position with the French international player Nedim Remili, who extends his contract with the Club last September.
“This new year is off to a great start," Dainis Kristopans reacted. “I am delighted to sign for Paris Saint-Germain, and especially to have the chance to work again with Raul Gonzalez, whom I consider one of the best coaches in the world. I’m starting a new chapter in my career by coming here, with the top quality of the players in one of the most competitive leagues. It is a unique and really exciting project.“
"Paris is welcoming a world-class player," said Jean-Claude Blanc, Deputy General Manager of Paris Saint-Germain. “We often talk about his unusual size but Dainis Kristopans has exceptional technical qualities as well, making him a key player in the quest for major titles with his previous clubs. Alongside with Nedim Remili, we have two right backs that every team dreams of.”
