Clean sweep for our internationals
The 2023 World Cup is off to a great start for all the Paris Saint-Germain Handball players on show: our various internationals all still boast a 200%record at the tournament!
THE NETHERLANDS:
Luc Steins' Netherlands have made a great start! On Friday, they faced Argentina, in a match that was expected to be very close. But the Dutch dominated the game from start to finish, and ended up winning in style (19-29). Luc was one of the driving forces of this victory, finding the net wit all three of his attempts. The same thing happened on Sunday against North Macedonia, with another Dutch victory (24-34). This time our centre-half scored four times (from five attempts). The Dutch thus qualified for the main round - even before facing Norway on Tuesday night.

SPAIN:
The clean sweep also continued for Spain. Ferran SolΓ© Sala's team, victorious over Montenegro (30-25) on the first day of the tournament, did it again on Saturday, beating Chile (34-26). The Parisian right-winger's excellent performance was noteworthy, as he managed to score five times against the Chilean defence (from seven attempts). Without any suspense, La Roja qualified for the main round and it is therefore with much less pressure that they head into their final first-round match, against Iran on Monday.

SWEDEN:
Co-hosts Sweden are living up to the lofty expectations of their fans. On Thursday, they started their competition well with a win over Brazil (26-18) and on Saturday, it was Cape Verde who came up against the Scandinavians. In the first half, Andreas Palicka's rearguard stood firm and conceded only eight goals (30': 19-8), and this handy lead allowed the Swedes to finish the job in the second half (34-27). Here as well, our goalkeeper's team qualified for the next round, even before facing Uruguay on Monday night.
