All you need to know about PSG Handball - Toulouse

Paris Saint-Germain Handball have a final berth to lock down as they take on Toulouse in the Coupe de France. Les Rouge et Bleu will be out to get past Le Fenix and into another Coupe de France final at the Accor Hotel Arena - on Saturday, 11 June.

THE STORY SO FAR

Thanks to their European status, Raul Gonzalez's men entered the Coupe de France at the quarter-final stage, playing a spectacular match against Montpellier. At Coubertin, Les Rouge et Bleu defeated the MHB (41-24) with Kamil Syprzak shooting a 9 from 10 and Vincent Gérard on fire with 19 saves (49%).

Toulouse, on the other hand, had to make it through the round of 16 and did so comfortably against Dijon (33-27). It was a little tighter in the quarters, where Toulouse took on Saint-Raphaël, but Le Fenix won through to the semis all the same (36-32).

DÉJÀ VU

In addition to the league meetings, Toulouse and Parisians have already crossed paths this season, in the Coupe de la Ligue. In the quarter-finals, the Parisians inflicted a heavy defeat on Le Fenix (25-39). Before that match, Paris Saint-Germain Handball played host to Toulouse in the league, clinching a comfortable win at Coubertin (43-28). This will be the third confrontation between the two teams this season, with a fourth instalment to come in the Liqui Moly StarLigue in Toulouse on Wednesday, 1 June.

HEAD TO HEAD

The two clubs have only met twice so far in the Coupe de France - once in Toulouse and once in Paris. In both matches, Les Rouge et Bleu have won. The last of those occasions was in the quarter-finals in Toulouse on 13 April, 2014. Les Rouge et Bleu won at the very end of the game thanks to a 7-metre throw from Fahrudin Melic (42-43). The Parisians then went on to clinch the second Coupe de France in club history.

THE OTHER MATCH

If the Parisians qualify for the Coupe de France final on Saturday night, they will face the winner of the other semi-final, between Chartres and Nantes at 19:00 on Friday.
