All you need to know about PSG Handball - Toulouse

On Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball play their Round 2 Liquy Moly StarLigue clash against Toulouse at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin, at 17:00.

Paris victorious...
Raul Gonzalez's men got their league season off to a perfect start with a 34-25 win over Istres last week. Among the highlights of the win was the excellent performance from Vincent Gérard, who managed to repel 15 of the opponents' attempts.

...Toulouse beaten
Fenix did not enjoy the same fortune against Chambéry. Despite 16 saves from Jef Lettens and eight goals from Nemanja Ilic, Toulouse fell away at the beginning of the second half and ended up conceding a defeat at home (27-30).

Two European teams
Toulouse and Paris represent France at the European level. After their double victory against Austrian Hard, Danijel Anđelković's men qualified for the second round of the EHF European League. The capital club, meanwhile, kicked off their European campaign at Veszprém on Thursday afternoon (34-31).

A turbulent transfer window
For this new season, the Toulouse squad underwent some changes, clocking seven departures - including that of coach Phillipe Gardent and Sadou Ntanzi, who returned to Paris after a season in the Pink City (22 matches, 47 goals). To fill these gaps, five players have arrived. Among them is French goalkeeper Robin Cantegrel, who spent last season with Vardar Skopje. Thirty-two-year-old Swedish pivot Frederic Pettersson arrived from Montpellier, returning to the club where he made his NHL debut in 2016-17.

Luc against his former side
Luc Steins arrived last November, on loan, to compensate for Nikola Karabatic's injury. He has now settled in the capital, following a year in which he won a Coupe de France, a league title and and two individual titles (best centre-half in the league and league MVP). Before joining Paris, he scored 67 goals in 24 games for Fenix.

On the opposing side, Edouard Kempf will be facing the club whose academy he came up through. The 23-year-old right-winger turned in many strong performances for Paris Saint-Germain Handball's senior - like his 6 from 7 against Veszprém in 2017) - as well as winning the National 2 title with the reserves as part of a golden generation (Adama Keita, Dylan Nahi, Robin Dourte, Titouan Afanou-Gatine, Gauthier Ivah...).
