All you need to know about PSG Handball - Saran

News

On Friday evening, the Parisians welcome Saran to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin for their Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 27 clash. Already crowned champions, the capital club are aiming to make it a perfect season of 100% victories...

THE TABLE

With four games to go, Saran still don't know where they will be next season. They sit at the bottom of the table in fourteenth position and, with 12 points, they are just one point ahead of Istres in the drop zone and five ahead of bottom-placed Nancy. The last few games, including this one against the Parisians, will therefore be crucial.

Les Rouge et Bleu have been champions for a few weeks now, but their season is not over yet and they want to go for records! The challenge at the end of the season is to achieve the 'grand slam' - victory in every single Liqui Moly StarLigue match all season long. The players from the capital still need four more victories to become the first team in the history of our league to achieve this feat.

A LOOK BACK AT THE FIRST LEG

The first leg went rather well for the Parisians. Away to Saran, Luka Karabatic and his merry men inflicted a heavy defeat on their opponents (27-34). Paris' top scorers were Kamil Syprzak (six goals) and Benoit Kounkoud (five goals). Meanwhile Yann Genty made ten saves.

SARAN'S STRONG POINTS

Although attack is not Saran's strong point, their defence is something to be reckoned with. Indeed, SLHB have the poorest attacking record in the division, but sit tenth on the attacking table. Saran have in their ranks the league's 12th-highest scorer in the form of Vasko Sevalsevic, who has bagged 132 goals in 226 attempts this season.

HEAD TO HEAD

This will be the sixth confrontation between the two teams in Liqui Moly StarLigue. Never in the course of these clashes have the Parisians scored fewer than 30 goals. The most prolific confrontation between the two clubs dates back to 30 November 2016, when Paris scored 44 goals, with notably 11 for Uwe Gensheimer.
