All you need to know about Créteil - PSG Handball

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball play their first derby of the season! In Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 3 action, Les Rouge et Bleu travel to face neighbours Créteil, who have started the season with a bang.

Top of the table clash
Only four teams have won their first two matches of the Liqui Moly StarLigue season. Among them are Les Rouge et Bleu, who beat Istres (34-25) and Toulouse (43-28).

Créteil are also among this select number, having turned in good performances against Dunkerque (34-29) and Saran (25-28).

Yoann Gibelin facing his future teammates
Yoann Gibelin is currently the second-top scorer in his team with 15 goals (just behind Valentin Aman with 17) and is playing his last season with Créteil. Indeed, the 21-year-old left-back (World Junior Champion alongside Elohim Prandi) has recently signed a contract that will tie him to the capital club from 2022 until 2024.

Meanwhile Nedim Remili will make his return to the club where he came up. The Créteil-born power shooter took his first steps in French handball's elite with his hometown club, going on to make 43 first division appearances, scoring 172 goals.

Round two
Paris and Créteil have already faced each other recently at the Palais des Sports Robert Oubron. It was on 25 August, when our team was deprived of a large proportion of their Olympians, who were just from Tokyo (Yann Genty and Ferran Solé Sala were present, however). After three periods of 20 minutes, they ended up on top in this friendly derby.

Head to head
This will be the 25th league meeting between the two teams. Paris Saint-Germain Handball dominate the record with 13 wins, three draws and eight defeats. They are also on a six-game winning streak against their direct rivals.
