All you need to know about Chartres - PSG Handball

News

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball return to the Liqui Moly StarLigue action with a trip to Chartres. The Parisians will be out to continue their perfect league season and make it 26 wins from 26 matches.

THE TABLE

Chartres are well established in the middle of the table and have already secured their top-flight survival! Our opponents have 20 points, notably nine more than Istres, who will not be able to take more than eight points from their last four matches.

For the Parisians, the situation has not changed. Champions since the second match against Montpellier, they are leading the way with 25 wins from as many matches and will want to continue their unbeaten run to become the first-ever team to achieve a perfect season.

CHARTRES' WEAPONS

There should be some familiar faces at the Halle Jean Cochet. The players from the capital will find an old acquaintance there - none other than Sergiy Onufriyenko. The former Parisian (during the 2015-2016 season) scored five goals in the first match this season, at Coubertin. Paris Saint-Germain Handball will also face capital-club academy product Titouan Afanou-Gatine. They will also have to watch out for Spanish pivot Adrian Figueras and Vanja Ilic, the ninth on the Liqui Moly StarLigue scoring chart with 137 goals this season.

HEAD TO HEAD

This will be the seventh league meeting between Chartres and Paris. The Rouge et Bleu have won every time, both home and away. In their first clash this season, Paris inflicted a heavy defeat on Chartres (39-25), with Mikkel Hansen firing 7 from 7 and Benoit Kounkoud 5 from 5.
