Warren, what a great year!

News

The young Parisian star has had a crazy year in 2023. Thrust into the action, he moved through each step at the speed of light. Spotlight on Warren Zaïre-Emery!

A name to remember. Warren Zaïre-Emery, at the tender age of 17, is already playing at the highest level, with breathtaking regularity and exponential progression. He was thrown in at the deep end, playing several Ligue 1 matches and even a UEFA Champions League group stage game against Haifa. Playing in a number of different positions, depending on what was needed, he was always there, and his future looks bright.

Under Luis Enrique, Warren has taken on a whole new dimension, with a string of first-team regulars in his preferred position in a midfield revamped by a number of summer arrivals. Warren has put all spectators in agreement, after a number of outstanding performances, including one against Milan at the Parc des Princes, in which he was voted man of the match, Warren even earned a call-up to Didier Deschamps' France squad.

That evening, against Milan, at the age of 17 and 231 days, he became the first player in the history of the capital club to make his 20th start in all competitions before turning 18.

Then came his first cap, his first goal for Les Bleus and an injury that kept him out of action for several weeks. But he recovered quickly and was back in action sooner than expected. And, as if it was a sign, he scored that decisive goal in Dortmund to catapult PSG into the Champions League last 16, in a match in which he was once again the man of the match.

Finally, against Metz, in the last match of 2023, Warren reached the milestone of 50 matches played in the red and blue shirt. All at the age of 17 years, 9 months and 12 days. This puts him ahead of the dethroned Bartholomew Ogbeche, who was 18 years, 7 months and 10 days old when he played his 50th match. An eternity, almost.
