Tuchel: 'It was a very serious performance'

News

Thomas Tuchel, Tanguy Kouassi, Ander Herrera and Presnel Kimpembe gave us their thoughts on Wednesday's Coupe de la Ligue semi-final win.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"It was very good. We qualified for the final, and that's the best thing. It was really tough, against the best defence in the league, but we scored three goals. We were clinical from set-pieces, it was good to open the game up, open up space and gain in confidence. I think we totally controlled the game, it was a very serious performance. We were very solid. The team was very focussed and put in a lot of effort. It was a difficult pitch to play on."

Tanguy Kouassi (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder)
"You could feel how happy I was after the goal. I shouted, I showed how happy I was. I'll remember my goal forever, I'm going to tell all my friends. I'm very happy I scored. I came on 20 minutes from the end, we had the ball, they went down to ten men, and we played our game. Paris' 4000th goal? I'm really happy to get myself into the club's history."

Ander Herrera (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder)
"When you play for this club, the most important thing is to win trophies. We'll have the opportunity of playing the final against a very good side in Lyon at the Stade de France with a lot of fans. We can be very happy and I think it wasn't an easy game between the cold, the state of the pitch...So, there are a lot of positives for us."

Presnel Kimpembe (Paris Saint-Germain defender, speaking to Canal+)
"It was a tough game against a compact Reims side. It wasn't easy. We showed quality, desire, we scored early and held on to the end. Total domination? Each game is different. This evening was tough. We still have a lot of games to go this season and the most important thing was to qualify. It was important for us to reach the last final in this competition. A dream final against Lyon? Lyon are a good team and we'll have to win at the Stade de France to claim this trophy."
