Thomas Tuchel: 'We have to accept it'

Thomas Tuchel, Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappé gave their thoughts on the Ligue 1 Conforama Week 32 clash between Paris Saint-Germain and LOSC at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Sunday, 14 April.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)

"We had a very good first half, but after the red card, it was complicated. Thilo [Kehrer], who is sick, and Moussa [Diaby], who had only had two training sessions after returning from injury, shouldn't really have played, but we were lacking players. We're having an extraordinary season, but you can't alway do extraordinary things. I don't think we would have lost it if we had still had 11 players. We lost with ten men and we have to accept it. Congratulations to Lille."

Marco Verratti (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder)

"This defeat really hurts. 5-1 is a pretty heavy scoreline. We were able to hold on at ten men, but we wanted to do more than that and keep pushing. Perhaps we should have played more intelligently and not conceded counter-attacks. But anyone can lose. It's only our second defeat in Ligue 1 Conforama this season and there are lots of potential explanations. We had a lot of guys missing and then we lost three more in the first 30 minutes. It's tough, but it happens. The important thing is to lift our heads quickly and focus on Wednesday's match, when we could clinch the title."

Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain striker)

"It was a match of end-to-end football. We were up for the battle. You can always lose, but the important thing is to do it in style and not lack personality, as we did tonight. Conceding three, four, five goals is not normal. Losing is a part of the game. Lille have a great team and congratulations to them. We have to play with more personality and I think that's one of our problems. We have to get back down to business now, as we have a match on Wednesday and we don't want to lose this way again." talking to Canal+
