Thomas Tuchel: "Adapt to the context"

News

The Paris Saint-Germain coach answered questions from the media ahead of the Round 9 Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Nantes.

THE SQUAD

"Di Maria is banned. Icardi, Paredes, Draxler, Verratti and Neymar are missing. Ney should be back after the international window. It should be quicker for Leo and Mauro, but just for them to return to training. We're taking risks with certain players, and it's difficult to make it so that everyone's at 100% at the moment, but we're trying to be careful with that."

THE RECRUITS

"I am never fully satisfied, because we can always improve. But the new signings have integrated well, we'd done individual sessions with them. It's sometimes difficult to put too much intensity into it, but we are taking the time with them to explain the structure of the team, how things work and the desire to find space... We're also working a lot with the video and I'm sure that all of the players will be able to adapt and learn a lot with the video. Matches are also where we can try certain things, as we have done with Danilo."

THE FIXTURE LIST

"Pre-season was difficult, and the players didn't get much holiday. It's a real challenge... At Mainz I could prepare my players for the week and at Dortmund I realised it was better to play every three days. Players need the tension of matches in order to be at their best and it's the same here, but there's always a context, and for the moment, of course it's a little more difficult."

MOISE KEAN

"The best thing for a forward to integrate at a new club and into a new squad is to score goals. The most important thing is that he continues to show the same desire and put in the same intensity on the field. He has great physical capacities, and he must absolutely continue like that. He weighs on defences, and that's what we needed."

THE MATCH AT NANTES

"We try to improve every day and to play the best possible football. We are capable of winning at home and away, but it's a difficult phase given the repeated absences. We will never stop trying to be the best possible, but we must adapt to the context. I don't know at all what my starting eleven will be. It's difficult to focus purely on the beauty of the game in this situation."
