The Parisian Advent Calendar - 5 for...

As Christmas approaches, PSG.FR takes this opportunity to look back each day at one of Paris Saint-Germain's key figures from this year. Day 5!

5 for... the number of different goal scorers in a match!

The 13th of November was a special day for the club from the capital. In addition to the 5-0 victory against AJ Auxerre at the Parc des Princes on the 15th day of Ligue 1, a victory that allowed the Rouge et Bleu to finish the first part of their season before the World Cup in style, Paris Saint-Germain had 5 different scorers (Kylian Mbappé, Carlos Soler, Achraf Hakimi, Renato Sanches and Hugo Ekitike), a record equalled for the Parisians in the league.

This is only the 14th time that five different players have found the net in a single match in 1,846 matches in the top flight.

The last time Paris managed such a performance in Ligue 1 was at Porte d'Auteuil, in a 6-1 win over Angers SCO on 2 October 2020, with goals from Alessandro Florenzi, Neymar Jr (a brace), Julian Draxler, Idrissa Gueye and Kylian Mbappé.

It should be noted that in all competitions, the record for an official match remains seven different scorers, when Thiago Silva, Adrien Rabiot, Christopher Nkunku, Thiago Motta, Lucas, Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler found the net in the 7-0 victory over SC Bastia in the Coupe de France round of 64 on 7 January 2017.
