The future is in safe hands!

Scorer of his first ever goal against Manchester United, Presnel Kimpembe is a symbol of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy.

Old Trafford, 53rd minute: Presnel Kimpembe opens the scoring with a left-foot volley and sends Paris Saint-Germain on the way to a glorious victory in the Theatre of Dreams. The central defender scoring the first goal of his albeit young career, that already features plenty of silverware!

Still in Manchester, with ten minutes left to play, Colin Dagba was introduced off the bench. It was the debut appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the Titi, to go with his four matches in Ligue 1 this term, one Coupe de France match against Villefranche, and the Trophée des Champions that he won in Shenzhen, China.

All in all this season, ten players from the club's youth academy have appeared for the first team in an official match. It's several years now that Paris Saint-Germain has been counting on its youngsters, who have also followed careers at different clubs too! A study released yesterday by the Observatoire du Football CIES, showed that no less than 50 players from the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy have played in Europe's top 5 leagues since 2014.  The emergence of players such as Nkunku, Areola, Kimpembe, N'Soki and Dagba are further proof of the excellent Paris academy that continues to work hard to bring through the future stars from the Île-de-France region.

Next week, Thiago Motta's U19 side will play Hertha Berlin in the last-16 play-offs of the UEFA Youth League, hoping to fly the Rouge et Bleu youth colours even higher this season!
