Paris Saint-Germain had an intensive 90-minute training session, including a cameo from Kylian Mbappé, on the first day of the training camp to prepare for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Atalanta.
Just a few hours after arriving in southern Portugal for a three-day training camp, Thomas Tuchel’s men were on the training pitch in the late afternoon sunshine in Faro.
While the injured Marco Verratti has remained in Paris and will join up with the rest of the squad in Lisbon, Layvin Kurzawa and Kylian Mbappé were both present and after a specially tailored warm-up, the Ligue 1 top scorer trained individually on the pitch with the ball.
After a warm up in the gym, Neymar Jnr and the rest of the squad worked on a series of passing and possession drills before a series of high-intensity small-sided games in a session that lasted an hour and a half.

In a light-hearted end to the session, several players remained on the pitch for an improvised free-kick session that saw Keylor Navas and Mauro Icardi exchange roles with the Argentine pulling on the gloves and making a few spectacular saves!
The team will be back on the training pitch the same time tomorrow for Day 2 in Faro.
