Read the key facts and figures from Paris' 5-0 win over AC Ajaccio on Saturday 13 May 2023 on Matchday 35 of Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes.
PARIS WINS THEir 5th
The Red and Blue are on a great run of form in the closing stages of the season, while second-placed Lens are not giving up. An emphatic victory for the Parisians, which also condemns AC Ajaccio to relegation. The capital club has been merciless with the promoted teams this season, with 5 victories, 18 goals scored and only one conceded. A 6/6 is possible, with the next trip to Auxerre.
As a result, Paris has 81 points after 35 games. This is the 6th time a team has reached this total at this stage of the season (only counting 3 points for a win), including 5 for Paris Saint-Germain alone.
7x20 + (25÷4) x (2/7+√9) = Kylian Mbappé
We know that Kylian is a player who makes numbers talk. Once again, against Ajaccio, he showed all his talent. This Saturday, he reached the 25-goal mark in Ligue 1 for the 4th time (after 2018-19, 2020-21 and 2021-22) and becomes the 2nd French player to achieve this performance since the post-war period. The last one was in the 1950s, with Thadée Cisowski (1955-56, 1956-57, 1958-59, 1959-60). In other words, not even our parents were born.
Mbappé touched the ball 20 times in the opponent's box against Ajaccio, a co-record for a player in a single Ligue 1 match since Opta began analysing the competition (2006-07), shared with Angel Di Maria, who achieved this feat in May 2019 with Paris Saint-Germain against Nice.
Finally, he has scored at least two goals in seven Ligue 1 matches this season. In the big 5 leagues, only Erling Haaland has done this more (9).
