Match in numbers

Discover the key stats and facts from matchday 34 of Ligue 1 and the Parisians' 3-1 victory in Troyes.

HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE

Paris are leading the way in the league and are determined to stay on course for a historic 11th title. The Rouge et Bleu had little to think about when they travelled to Troyes, with RC Lens provisionally three points back after their victory over Marseille. They needed to win in the Aube to continue their quest for the title.

Kylian Mbappé was the first goalscorer of the evening, and he got his team on the right track with his fifth headed goal for Paris. It's not something he's used to doing, but it's clear that his attacking arsenal is complete. Kylian opened the scoring for the 9th time this season in Ligue 1, the highest total for a player in 2022-23. And each time the Parisian number 7 has opened the score, Paris has won.

Paris took 31 shots on goal in the match, a joint-record in Ligue 1 this season (with Reims against Lorient on 1 February). The club from the capital also obtained the highest total of Expected Goals (4.4 xG) in a single match in the top flight in 2022-23.

PARIS shine in the AUBE

Paris Saint-Germain won against Troyes once again. Although the first leg at the Parc des Princes was a narrower affair (4-3), this Sunday's victory in the Aube was a bigger one for the Parisians.

Paris have won 10 of their last 11 matches against Troyes in Ligue 1 (1 draw). In addition, PSG have not lost to ESTAC for 17 matches in the top flight (14 wins, 3 draws).

And Paris are on a roll, as the club from the capital has just won a fifth consecutive away match, after winning its first five matches away from home this season, thus equalling its best run in 2022-2023.

DOMINANT IN MIDFIELD

The Parisian midfield as a whole gave an excellent performance. Vitinha was responsible for Kylian Mbappé's opener, before scoring in the second half from a Marco Verratti pass.

Vitinha has been involved in 3 goals in his last 4 Ligue 1 matches (2 goals, 1 assist). He was then able to appreciate Fabian Ruiz's goal, curled into the top corner, which sealed the outcome of this match, dominated by the Parisians, with this victory which consolidates their position at the top of the standings with four games to go!
