Stats & Facts: the trip to Marseille in numbers

Match in numbers

Check out all the headline figures and key facts from Sunday's 0-0 draw between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome on Ligue 1 Matchday 11.

Paris still unbeaten in Marseille

After playing almost the entire second half with ten men, the capital side managed to secure a point at the Stade Vélodrome – a result which extended Paris's unbeaten sequence in Marseille. That now stands at six wins and three draws from recent visits, the club not having lost away to OM in ten years. Les Parisiens have also put together a run of three straight clean sheets away to Marseille, a first in the club's history. Meanwhile, the goalless stalemate was the first in this fixture since 29 November 1998, ending a run of 21 matches with at least one goal.

Paris's solid defence

Having created threats in the first half, the capital side were made to suffer after being reduced to ten men in the second period. The Paris defence nonetheless proved itself to be solid and resisted Marseille's attacks, a point underlined by the fact that the home side's first and only shot on target came in the 90th minute – the latest for OM in Ligue 1 since 14 February. Marseille have now failed to win two of their last seven Ligue 1 games in which their opponents have received a red card at 0-0, and both those matches were against Paris: on 6 October 2013 (1-2) and on Sunday (0-0).

Marquinhos, lucky charm for Les Rouge et Bleu

This weekend's meeting between Paris and Marseille was the 101st game between the rival clubs, and the 16th contested by Marquinhos. The Paris captain has never once been on the losing side to OM, having featured in 13 victories and three draws.

Marco Verratti equals Sylvain Armand's record

A starter in Mauricio Pochettino's line-up to face Marseille, the Italian midfielder matched the club record for appearances in Le Classique, equalling former Paris defender Sylvain Armand. The two players both boast 18 games against OM in all competitions.
