Stats & facts : Paris-Lens
Following Paris Saint-Germain's 1-0 victory over RC Lens at the Parc des Princes on Saturday 2 November, here are the key statistics and highlights from the encounter on Matchday 10 of Ligue 1.
THE PARC IS AN IMPREGNABLE FORTRESS
With victory over Racing on Saturday, the capital club made the most of the weekend's action and strengthened their lead at the top, now 6 points clear of second-placed AS Monaco, who lost to Angers SCO the previous day at the Stade Louis II (0-1).
Paris are the only team in Ligue 1 not to have lost a point at home since the start of the season, having won just one of their previous six league games (4 draws, 1 defeat) against RCL to secure a fifth consecutive success at the Parc des Princes.
Although this is the first time since 9 December 2023 (2-1 win over Nantes) that the Parisians have won by just one goal on their home turf in the French top flight, partly due to the performance of Lens goalkeeper Brice Samba, who made his highest total of saves in a Ligue 1 match under the colours of Lens (7), the Parisians have now scored in each of their last 20 Ligue 1 matches. The Rouge et Bleu have not enjoyed such a long run in the league since August 2018-September 2019 (44).
Luis Enrique ‘s men have scored 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of their Ligue 1 matches this season, more than any other team. Each of these 3 goals (Lee Kang-In at Le Havre, Bradley Barcola against Montpellier, Ousmane Dembélé yesterday) was Paris' 1st shot of the match, which is also the highest total of goals from a 1st attempt in the league in 2024-2025.
PARIS SOLID
Having failed to score at the Parc des Princes, RC Lens did not score away from home in Ligue 1 for the first time in 2024, despite being the only team to have always found the net away from home in Ligue 1 over the entire period (13 times).
THE DEMBÉLÉ/BARCOLA DUO ON THE MARK
Paris Saint-Germain forwards Bradley Barcola, with the assist, and Ousmane Dembélé, with the goal, once again made the difference.
The latter's goal was the 20th of his career in Ligue 1 (12 with Stade Rennais FC, 8 with Paris) and his 50th in the league (6 in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, 24 with Barcelona).
The goal was also the 160th conceded by Lens against the capital club in an official match, with only 4 clubs having conceded more than the Sang et Or: Olympique Lyonnais (172 goals), AS Saint-Étienne (167 goals), Olympique de Marseille and FC Nantes (161 goals).
