Paris Saint-Germain thanks Dani Alves

News

Both parties have reached an agreement not to extend the Brazil defender's contract, which means his two-year stay in the French capital ends this month.

On 12 July 2017, Dani Alves became the 30th Brazilian player to join the club. The 107-time Brazil international, who is currently on Copa America duty in his native country, made 73 competitive appearances for the Rouge et Bleu. He scored eight goals, registered 18 assists and won two Ligue 1 titles, a Coupe de France (2018), a Coupe de la Ligue (2018), and a Trophée des Champions (2017). Those five trophies added to his tally, which is the biggest in football history.
At 36 years of age, he remains one of the most competitive defenders of his era, and was nominated by FIFA and FIFPro the world's best right-back in the last two seasons. He was also named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year 2017/18.

The club wishes to thank Dani Alves for the professionalism and experience he brought over his two seasons.

"We're happy to have had a player of the talent and experience of Dani Alves here at Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons," said Paris Saint-Germain CEO and Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. "Two years ago, following his experiences in Spain and Italy, Dani chose Paris Saint-Germain when he wanted a new challenge. We are happy that this great player leaves Paris having won several trophies in our colours. I wish him the best in the challenges that lie ahead of him."
