Paris maintain their 100% record

The context
It was a meeting of two opposites: Paris with two wins and averaging three goals a game, Angers had lost their first two matches of the season. Worse news for the visitors to the Parc des Princes: home coach Thomas Tuchel had all his attacking talents available with Edinson Cavani back.

The key moments
Tactically innovative, the Paris XI bore the hallmark of their coach. In a 3-4-3, Paris brought in a new face with Thilo Kehrer making his first start, and had changes with Marquinhos in a defensive midfield position and Angel Di Maria on the left. PSG's pressing quickly suffocated the visitors, and when Neymar Jr fed Cavani, El Matador was back in the groove he had last season (1-0, 12'). Some 120 seconds later came a copycat move: the Brazilian the provider, the Uruguayan, though, this time seeing his header hit a post (14') Thomas Mangani's penalty levelled things (1-1, 20'), but Paris looked able to step up a gear.
It didn't take long after the restart to do that: Kylian Mbappé's volley found the net (2-1, 52'). After his fifth goal against Angers in L1, Mbappé then provided a five-star pass for Neymar Jr, who extended the hosts' lead (3-1, 66'). It was the tenth time Ney has scored and registered an assist in the same league game. Mbappé might have added more (87', 90+3'), but Angers too with Cheikh N'Doye's shot ricocheting off the crossbar (90+1').

A Parisian in the match: Edison Cavani
A few minutes after picking up his Ligue 1 top scorer trophy for last season, El Matador was at it again with his first shot of the season, and very nearly struck with his second. And he's also been working on a new celebration.

The word: Trio
The reunion of 'MCN' was the real attraction of the day. For the fifth time in Ligue 1, Mbappé, Cavani and Neymar Jr all scored in the same game.

What's next?
After provisionally taking sole possession of top spot, Paris will go for a fourth straight win in a week's time. Next Saturday, the French champions will face Nîmes at their Stade des Costières for the first time in 25 years. It promises to be quite a game with the newly promoted side having won their first two matches of the season, including a famous triumph against Marseille.
