Paris Saint-Germain are back in Ligue 1 at 21:00 CET this Sunday with the huge clash against Lyon at the Parc des Princes. Another win and Les Rouge et Bleu will record a ninth consecutive victory to start the league season!

Matches between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon are always good to get the pulses racing – a clash between the two most successful clubs this century. Both sides like to play attacking football and both are in the Champions League this term… Sunday night at the Parc will be like a real European evening…

Les Parisiens have skipped clear at the top of the Ligue 1 standings with a perfect 24 points from eight matches (10 points will separate the two sides at kick-off) and they can cap off a remarkable start to the campaign with another win on Sunday.

Last weekend’s 3-0 away to Nice saw Thomas Tuchel’s side equal the all-time record of eight consecutive wins to start the Ligue 1 season, set by Olympique Lillois back in 1936-37. Paris can break the 82-year-old record with win number nine against Lyon. The defending champions are averaging 3.3 goals per game and are on track for another record-breaking campaign.

In the head to head meetings, Paris Saint-Germain are unbeaten in Lyon’s last ten visits to the Parc in Ligue 1 (8 wins, 2 draws) – their best current form against any first division side. Les Rouge et Bleu have scored in their last eight league games against and can equal their club record with a goal on Sunday, of scoring in nine games in a row against OL (achieved twice previously).

However Lyon are in form, defeating Premier League champs Manchester City in England in the Champions League as well as several fine performances in Ligue 1. Paris and Lyon boast the best possession stats in the land (Paris 64%, Lyon 59.2%) and the best pass completion (Paris 89.1%, Lyon 86%).
