Mbappé-powered Parisians shine!

Match reports

After an international break that yielded thrilling scenes around the world, the Parisians were back in Ligue 1 action at the Parc des Princes as the final sprint of the season began. After proving decisive with their national teams, Messi, Mbappé and Neymar Jr were back in the capital to make their mark!

And the three artists did not need to be asked twice... Kylian Mbappé proved the initial instigator, wreaking havoc in the Brittany side's rear-guard with spectacular bursts of pace and link-up play. And it was from a superb move initiated by this attacking trio - with Mbappé teeing things up - that Neymar Jr unlocked the situation with a clinical finish (1-0, 12'). This splendid goal capped a super-focused opening from our Rouge et Bleu; heads up, eyes focused, the Parisians continued to impose their will in this game.

Leo Messi, who never stopped trying to break the lines to tee up his teammates, just missed the target with a superb first-time shot (26'). One wonderful move led to another! Kylian Mbappé then doubled the lead with a beautiful shot that went in off the near post (2-0, 28'). Far from being satiated, our attackers continued to run Les Merlus ragged as half-time approached.

Christophe Pélissier's men were forced to score to try to get a vital point in their race for survival, and they tried to hit back after the break, even managing to reduce the gap when a defensive misunderstanding handed Terem Moffi a golden opportunity (2-1, 56'). But it wasn't enough to make the unstoppable Kylian Mbappé doubt himself! When Achraf Hakimi won the ball back in a high position, the Frenchman took a small step to open his shooting angle, before unleashing a powerful and precise shot from just outside the area (3-1, 69').

A taste of the masterpiece to come... With a breathtaking move, Kylian Mbappé used his trademark pace and vision to play in Leo Messi for an emphatic strike that smashed off the underside of the bar and in (4-1, 73'). High art! The No.7 was exceptional on Sunday night, constantly bringing the danger to Dreyer's goal. The artist crowned his magical performance by cooking up another assist for Neymar Jr, who sealed the Parisian success with a fifth goal that crystallised Paris Saint-Germain's control of the match (5-1, 90').

With a 12-point lead on their nearest chasers, the capital club resumed its march in style, thanks to a Kylian Mbappé who, in transcendent form, was involved in all five of his team's goals! An almost perfect evening as Les Parisiens approach the home stretch of the season with a champion's appetite.
