The Paris Saint-Germain manager as well as Désiré Doué and Axel Tape, who celebrated making his first-team debut tonight, discussed their side’s 4-2 win over FC Espaly in the last 32 of the Coupe de France at the Stade Marcel Michelin in Clermont.
LUIS ENRIQUE
“There are no easy games in the cup, and it’s always tough to play away from home. There’s a lot that we can’t control, like the state of the pitch, but as we conceded the first goal early on, it became tougher. It’s a positive result because a lot of teams have been knocked out and we’re through to the last 16. We’re happy, but we need to recover firstly and then focus on the game against Lens.”
DÉSIRÉ DOUÉ
“We’re satisfied because we’re through. Our run continues, and our aim is to go as far as possible and to win the cup. We managed to go through tonight, and that’s the most important thing for us. Congratulations to Espaly, who were very good tonight and caused us a lot of problems. They played without fear, so fair play to them.”
AXEL TAPE
“This was a huge source of pride for me. All I’m feeling is joy and happiness. This is the culmination of work that I started doing when I was little. Making my first start with the club that I support is huge for me, and I’d like to thank the coach for his trust, as well as the staff. I hope that there’s more to come.”
