Leandro Paredes: 'It's important to be able to suffer as a team'

Interviews

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder looks ahead to Tuesday's UEFA Champions League encounter with Manchester City.

Leandro, the team didn't get the result they'd hope for against BRUGGE, but there's still a long way to go...

"Of course. It was our first game, there's a long way to go. We didn't play badly against Brugge, but  we could have done better. We didn't win, but we have a Champions League game coming up tomorrow. It'll be very important for the rest of the season. We're going to do everything we can to be ready."

YOU'RE FACING MANCHESTER CITY TOMORROW. WHAT KIND OF GAME DO YOU EXPECT?

"We're going to come up against a very good side that knocked us out last season. It hurt us a lot, because we played well in the first half of both games. I think we played well, but we got knocked out. We'll do everything we can tomorrow to ensure the result goes our way this time."

THE TEAM HAS WON SOME GAMES AT THE DEATH AND HAS BEEN SOLID IN DIFFICULT MOMENTS. IS THAT ALSO A STRENGTH?

"Yes, it's important to be able to suffer. I think there are periods when you suffer in each match. We're ready to suffer. The key thing is to suffer together, to suffer in the best way possible, as a group, as a team. I think we do it in the best way possible."

IS THERE A FEELING OF REVENGE AFTER THE MOST RECENT GAMES AGAINST CITY?

"Without a doubt. As was the case last year against Bayern, who'd beaten us in the final a few months earlier and who we then had to play in the quarter-finals. We want to make amends."
