As the Parisians celebrate their 11th French league title, former players from the club from the capital talk about their memories of winning the title. Jean-Marc Pilorget, who won the title with Paris Saint-Germain in 1986, tells us about his fondest memories.
Jean-Marc, what are your earliest memories of joining Paris Saint-Germain?
"The first thing I remember about PSG at the time was Just Fontaine, the coach at the time. And my first memory as a player is my first match at the Parc des Princes. It's a great memory for me."
When you think of the Parc des Princes, which memory comes to mind first?
"One of the great moments I experienced at the Parc des Princes was the first Coupe de France win, against Saint-Etienne. It's a truly memorable moment. It was my first trophy, and PSG's first trophy. And I had the great honour of taking the last penalty in the shoot-out that gave us victory."
And what are your best memories about winning the league title in 1986?
"In the end, I don't just remember the match that won the title in 1986. It's the whole season, with the number of games we went unbeaten. And strangely enough, after five matches that season, we knew we were going to be champions. You could feel it, it was indescribable, but we had strength within ourselves, a remarkable team and a coach who had pumped us up. We were highly motivated. The thing that sticks in my mind is the group, a truly united group that supported each other all season long.
