Gueye and Diallo's Senegal impress

News

Idrissa Gueye and Abdou Diallo's Senegal beat Benin 3-1 in the first matchday of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The African champions are still going strong! After securing their ticket to the 2022 World Cup by beating Egypt (1-0), the Lions of Teranga put on a show against Benin, led by Sadio Mané, who scored a hat-trick.

Abdou Diallo, who suffered an adductor injury last March during the match against Egypt, finally returned to the national team on Saturday evening, playing in the centre of defence. Gana Gueye came on to play the last 15 minutes with Aliou Cissé's team.
