Parisians Gianluigi Donnarumma and Kylian Mbappé were voted best goalkeeper and best player of the year 2021 respectively.
After receiving his award on Monday 27 December, the number 7 explained: "I am proud to be here with so many great players, I realise that I am one of them now. It was a great season, but I hope to do better next year. My best moments? I think of the excellent matches in the Champions League, the victory in the Nations League with France, and the title of top scorer in Ligue 1 and in the Nations League. There were many good things, others a little less so. It's football that pushes you to improve. It was a great season, this award means a lot and I have to do better."
