Paris to face Arsenal in the semi-finals!

Paris Saint-Germain will face Arsenal FC in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The first leg will take place on Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 April at 21:00 (20:00 in England) at the Arsenal Stadium, with the return leg on Tuesday 6 or Wednesday 7 May at the Parc des Princes, also at 21:00.

As a reminder, the capital club, currently leading Ligue 1 with 74 points from 28 matches and already assured of the French title, qualified for the UEFA Champions League play-offs by finishing 15th in the league with 13 points from eight matches before eliminating Stade Brestois 29 (3-0, 7-0) in the play-off, Liverpool FC (0-1, 1-0 a.e.t., 4-1 on penalties) in the round of 16 and Aston Villa FC (3-1, 2-3) in the quarter-finals.

After qualifying directly for the round of 16 after finishing third in the league phase with 19 points, the Gunners, currently second in the Premier League table with 63 points from 32 games, 13 points behind Liverpool, went on to eliminate PSV Eindhoven in the round of 16 (7-1, 2-2) and Real Madrid CF in the quarters (3-0, 2-1).

The capital club and Arsenal have already met this season, in the league phase, with a 2-0 victory for the English side on home turf. The two sides have met four other times in their history across all competitions: in the semi-finals of the 1993-1994 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup UEFA (1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes, 1-0 win for the Londoners at Highbury) and in the group stage of the 2016-2017 UEFA Champions League (1-1 draw in France and 2-2 draw in England).

The winner of the two-legged tie will secure their place in the final of the competition, where they will face FC Barcelona or FC Internazionale Milano at the Fussball Arena München in Munich on Saturday 31 May (21:00).
