Departure with the support of the fans

News

The Paris Saint-Germain players left the French capital on Saturday morning to travel to Portugal, and they received a stirring send off from their supporters at Aeroport du Bourget.

The Rouge et Bleu players were to jet out of Paris for a three-day training camp in Faro, to fine-tune preparations for the Final 8.

But before take-off, Thomas Tuchel's side had the surprise of seeing their supporters come to greet them at 9am at the airport.

A banner displaying "3 victories for the glory" was unravelled by the fans of the club, in order to cheer on their side in the European competition. As a reminder, the supporters aren't permitted to travel, with matches taking place behind closed doors due to the health crisis.

The players then had the chance to have a short conversation with the members of the Collectif Ultra Paris, sharing a moment together before climbing up onto the plane.

Boosted by their supporters, the players are now aware of their schedule: a first layover in Faro, in the south of the country, where the team will have a three day training camp in order to prepare in the best way possible before heading up to the Portuguese capital.

Late morning on Tuesday, the players will travel to Lisbon, where they will take to the pitch of the Estádio da Luz in the evening for the traditional pre-match training session.

Les Rouge et Bleu will face Atalanta on Wednesday 12 August at 21h, in the quarter finals of the Champions League.
