Galtier: 'We needed to get back to winning ways'

Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier and young midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery spoke to PSGTV after Wednesday's 3-1 Ligue 1 victory away to Montpellier. Here's what they had to say:

CHRISTOPHE GALTIER

"There was a bit of nervousness at the beginning of the game, and we made some technical errors that we don't usually make. Then, obviously, there was a bit of bad luck with the early exit of Kylian and Ramos after missing the penalty. All of that made the first half, if not more difficult, at the very least: surprising. On the other hand, in the second half, we responded very well, we took control of the game, got in good positions and created a lot of chances. We scored goals and had goals ruled out, sometimes for very tight offside calls. But it was an important victory because we had to get back to winning ways. We needed to bounce back after some disappointing performances, and we did.

"Warren? That's fate. He was very unhappy after the Reims game because of the goal we conceded in the last minute, and a lot of people were upset with him, even though he's a player with a huge future. It was also important for us that he was able to play in this game. He brought us everything we know he is capable of: he showed us the defensive side, but also with his technical quality and his ability to get forward."

WARREN ZAÏRE-EMERY

"We need to stick together, show that we are a real team, work as one and give the maximum to win games and bring home the three points every time. I always do my best when I come on and the team always does its best, so I'm very happy that we can take home the three points. Personally? I am very happy! I have scored my first goal in Ligue 1, so of course I’m happy. I hope there will be many more."
