The Paris Saint-Germain coach and Gigio Donnarumma gave PSG TV their thoughts on the 3-1 Ligue 1 Round 33 defeat to FC Lorient at the Parc des Princes on Sunday 30 April.
CHRISTOPHE GALTIER
"It was a disappointing game, disappointing in terms of the beginning, when we started completely amorphous, making a lot of mistakes and a lot of technical errors, which obviously gave Lorient, who played well, reason to hope. We didn't manage to use the ball well, and we defended very badly at the same time. We conceded a second goal after going a man down, even though we scored just before half-time, and then in the second half, it seemed to me that for 25-30 minutes, there was a desire to go for an equaliser at least. We didn't manage to do it; their goalkeeper made a few saves. Afterwards, there were still technical errors, but the fact of being at ten against eleven while Lorient pushed a lot of players forward, obviously the team was quickly cut in two, and that gave Lorient opportunities. And so it's no mystery why we ended up losing this match."
"But now we have to be aware of the situation and I don't know how many points ahead we will be after tonight's game in Marseille and the game in Lens in the middle of the week. We will have to perform well in our upcoming matches, against Troyes next weekend, against Ajaccio at home too, because everyone will be fighting to make sure we take the title. And we will have to give a better account of ourselves, with more personality and more character and not being caught not he back foot. On the contrary, we want to impose a rhythm, to put on a pace in order to win our matches. And that was not the case this afternoon."
GIGIO DONNARUMMA
"We have to keep our heads held high because we are on top of the table and we have to stay there to win the championship. So it's important not to lose heart at this moment. We have to train well and start again. This is not the time to feel sorry for ourselves and we must win this next league title. The game against Troyes? We have to think about this game now. We're angry, that's for sure. We have lost a few games in front of our home fans. That's not ok, and so we are sorry - and angry. We need to take that anger to the field by training well and absolutely winning the next game. If we all want to stay in first place, we need everyone. We need to win every game and we will."
