After clinching top spot in Group F with a win over Canada (2-1), the Atlas Lions andย Achraf Hakimi came up against a Spain squad featuring Carlos Soler andย Pablo Sarabia in the Round of 16.
Walid Regragui's men pulled off a surprise by winning the tie, Hakimi chipping in the decisive penalty to take his nation into the last eight. He played the full game while Soler came off the bench after 63 minutes and Sarabia played the last two minutes of extra-time.
