The Academy plays in the Rio favelas

The Paris Saint-Germain Academy Brazil took part in a community project in the Rocinha favela in Rio de Janeiro - one of the biggest favelas in South America with more than 100,000 inhabitants.

The days activities brought together local community side Futuros Talentos, the GrĂªmio Youth Academy and the Paris Saint-Germain Academy, in total, more than 200 people in the Rocinha sports centre. An enriching and memorable moment for all the participants.

As well as the friendly matches, in the U11 and U13 categories, the Paris Saint-Germain Academy in Rio took part in a fund raising and awareness campaign to collect as much sporting equipment as possible for the Futuros Talentos.

It was a symbolic days that brought together families from different social classes and the kids from all the teams promised to continue to work together for similar causes in the future. The day also featured the presence of the local Samba school as well as a conference to create awareness for more social projects in the community.

The project coordinator from Futuros Talentos was delighted with the success of the event and presence of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy Brazil: 'The presence of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy, the players and their families, as well as the material donated will be a great help for many children in our community in desperate need.'
