Emery: 'It's great our boys qualified for the World Cup'

Ahead of Saturday's Ligue 1 match away to Dijon on Saturday in Week 9 of the domestic season, Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery spoke to the press and highlighted his players excellent results on international duty...

THE RETURN OF THE INTERNATIONALS: "All the players are back from international duty this Thursday and it great that all our boys qualified for the World Cup. During the break, we worked at the Ooredoo Training Centre with the other players to stay in shape. Today we fine-tune preparations for Saturday's game against Dijon, with our internationals. Away matches are always tough as we saw against Montpellier."

INJURY UPDATE: "It's important that the injured players focus on recovering and getting better. For example, Thiago Silva returned from his national team with a little injury this morning and came straight to the training centre and we hope he will be ok for the next Champions League match against Anderlecht on Wednesday. Ruled out of the France team, Layvin Kurzawa has been working hard with the medical staff and has started running again. He won't be back in time for Dijon, but he should be ok for the Champions League on Wednesday. And finally, the doctor gave me reassuring news concerning Angel Di Maria who should be very happy to have qualified for the World Cup with Argentina."

WHO WILL PLAY IN ATTACK VS DIJON? "We have a lot of players capable of playing in the three attacking positions. We will see how Edinson Cavani is feeling physically as he's just played two matches with Uruguay, but he is used to recovering quickly and is available to play against Dijon. If a player is not able to play, we will find a solution. For example, Kylian Mbappé can play on the right side or in the middle. The most important thing is to know who the players are feeling, physically and mentally, ahead of Saturday's game."

JAVIER PASTORE: "Javier has been increasing his workload at training this week. He took part in full training with squad on Wednesday. We hope he continues like this and that that injury will be behind him. His qualities can really help the team, especially in the opposition penalty box where he can play a role in the build-up and in finishing chances."

MARCO VERRATTI: "Marco is a very important player for us. He is young, but he already has a lot of experience of European football. We want to help him continue to progress and keep improving in certain areas. His technical characteristics can be a great help to the team and we want to get him in the best possible conditions. He worked well with us during the international break and took part in the first half of team training on Wednesday and he should be ok to train fully today. He should be available to play Dijon on Saturday."

ANGEL DI MARIA: "Angel Di Maria had a fantastic second half of last season. This season he was suspended for the Trophée des Champions and was then injured on international duty and still hasn't been 100% with us this season, but he played very well with Argentina last week. He is a very important player for this club."
