Following their win over Lyon on Sunday (2-0), the sixth in as many Ligue 1 games this season, the Parisians will be seeking to continue their unbeaten run at the Stade de la Mosson on Saturday. Exactly a week before playing host to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, the Rouge-et-Bleu are aware of the importance of their trip south.
On Wednesday afternoon, under the watchful eye of Unai Emery and his staff, the players took a lengthy warm-up before taking part in some technical exercises with and without the ball. Though the tactical set-up won't be revealed until tomorrow, the Parisians have clearly got their minds focussed on Montpellier and are determined to do their utmost to be ready to face Michel der Zakarian's men, victors against Troyes last weekend.
Suspended for the last three league games, Marco Verratti rejoined full training on Wednesday and talking about the match ahead: "Saturday is an important match. We take the games one after the other and we're now 100% focussed on this trip. They're always difficult games against them. We haven't forgotten that we lost there last season. There's almost a sense of revenge about it. We're going to try and stay true to our playing philosophy, which has helped us win up to now, but also play with style. It's important to maintain momentum before meeting Bayern Munich next week." Montpellier and Bayern will be followed by Bordeaux at the Parc des Princes, three testing encounters to take us through to the end of the month.
